Blue Dragon

I finally beat Blue Dragon this weekend. Clocking in at about 50 hours of game play spread over three discs it was quite the accomplishment (if I do say so myself). I especially dug the boss battle song "Eternity" which has to be the cheesiest most awesomest tune I've ever heard (check it in the clip below). Not digging the Achivements though...seriously no achivement for beating the game? What's up with that?

Viva Pinata

Picked up Viva Pinata today and am finding it strangely addictive. Very strangely.

If you haven't seen the ad for the game it's worth a looksee...I promise it is way funnier than any of the ads ran during the Super Bowl...almost Geico Caveman funny.

Oblivion

Damn you Oblivion. Why must you be so addictive? Seriously though, this game rules. I'm about 20 hours of game play into it and have barely made a dent.

Zune + Xbox 360 = Crazy Delicious (almost)

Finally got a chance to play around with hooking up the Zune to the Xbox 360. Turns out it's way easier to do than I expected, though it doesn't connect over the Wi-Fi like I was hoping. The front of the 360 has two USB plugs. You just plug the device right in via the USB, and voila you can play your songs straight through the media player built into the console.

On the downside, I'm having a hard time figuring out what the compelling scenarios are here. I already share out my music directory over the wi-fi so the Xbox 360 media player can connect to my music share directly. It's pretty fast over the network (even with 200+ GBs of music), and given that all of my synched songs exist on the share it doesn't seem to buy me much to connect the Zune. On the 'it's the social' side I guess a compelling scenario is bringing your Zune with you to play your tunes at a friends house. Kinda cool, but not a killer feature. The fact that the two devices can work together though definitely opens up possibilities for cool new features in the future.

Jamie 1, Gears of War 0

Aw yeah. Beat Gears of War tonight. Granted it was on Casual mode and the last dude took me about one bazillion tries, but it still felt pretty sweet. Nice to see Timstro in the credits too.

Gears of War

Picked up Gears of War yesterday for the 360. Holy crap. I'm not usually a big fan of shooter games, but this one is pretty solid. I just finished the first level last night and the Berserker at the end scared the bejesus out of me. Don't get that too often from a video game. Good stuff.

You might recognize the game from it's ubiquitous "Mad World" trailer which has been featured all over the place lately (originally by Tears For Fears, the cover version of the song here is by Gary Jules. It was also featured in Donnie Darko)

Got XBox 360?

My brother shot this photo of a local auto parts store scalping XBox 360s. Hey, it's cheaper than eBay.
