"Before you know it as the years go by, you're just like other people you have seen, with all those peculiar human ailments. Just another vehicle for temper and vanity and rashness and all the rest. Who wants it? Who needs it? These things occupy the place where a man's soul should be." -- Henderson the Rain King

New CD's purchased today

Purchased four new CDs today at Sonic Boom:

  1. The Decemberists - Castaways and Cutouts - Been meaning to pick this one up for quite some time, as I've already got Her Majesty the Decemberists and found it to be superb.
  2. Arcade Fire - Funeral - This is on everyone's Top 10 list for 2004 and was #1 on the KEXP countdown of the top albums of 2004.
  3. Ray LaMontagne - Trouble - Produced by Ethan Johns (the same guy that produced Ryan Adams' Heartbreaker) and has been getting very good reviews.
  4. Joanna Newsom - The Milk-Eyed Mender - Part of the same neo-folk(?) movement associated with the likes of Devendra Banhart.
